Process of Referral

Referrals to Nurture Haven are accepted from courts, local authorities, parents' legal representatives, solicitors, and children’s guardians across the country.

We consider parents with children of all ages, engaging in detailed discussions with the referring agent and other relevant professionals to determine if our services are suitable for each family.

All parents referred to Nurture Haven undergo a thorough assessment of their parenting capacity. In cases where a parent may pose a potential risk to their environment or child, additional information may be required before determining their suitability for placement.

Initially, referrals must be discussed with our management team, as admissions are typically pre-planned. Every referral is carefully reviewed, with impact risk assessments conducted to evaluate any matching considerations between current and proposed families.

We are happy to have an initial conversation by telephone or review the local Authority’s own referral form/family profile form however we can not formally accept a placement without the necessary information. The placing authority should return a completed Referral form together with any other appropriate documentation to the Manager

Supporting documentation should include:

• Referring Social worker’s assessment report (stating clearly the objectives of the referral or a copy of the Care Plan)
• Medical History
• Social History
• Psychological /Psychiatric reports
• Court Proceedings, (prior and outstanding) also previous convictions
• Any other reports, which may be suitable/required
